The far breton is a delicious and easy to make prunes pudding from Brittany. it is so good in fact that it became a French staple everybody loves. it si to be enjoyed slightly warm with a coffee on your own or with friends. put simply this pudding is one of the best treat you will ever try.
The far breton is really simple and quick to make and actually in France that recipe is the type of dessert you make on a whim when you either don’t have time or just don’t know what to serve for dessert your guest or family. so if you want to try something new the far is a great option. this is also a very versatile recipe as you can make it with or with out fruits. in this example I am making the classic version with prunes but you can use apples instead fro example or just serve it plain if you don’t have any fruits at hand.
For the best result when making a far breton:
- use the best and freshest ingredients you can find
- use salted butter
- ideally leave you batter to rest for 30 minutes before baking it.
- serve when it is still a little bit warm
- do not open your oven door while the pudding is cooking
