Quiche Lorraine recipe:
This quiche recipe is easy to make and is the modern twist (with cheese) of the French version of the famous quiche Lorraine. its easy to make, its delicious and you can use the same “savory custard” with a whole ranges of other garnishes meat veg or fish , everything works. this recipe is simple and super versatile. perfectly suited for home cooking. Its best to try the original first (the quiche Lorraine from this video) then experiment with various fillings.
250grams of shortcrust pastry for the base
for the savoury custard or “quiche mix’:
250ml of full cream milk (whole milk)
250ml of pure cream (heavy cream)
2 whole eggs
2 egg yolks
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of cayenne pepper
1 pinch of nutmeg
For the Quiche Lorraine filling:
200 grams or grated cheese ( ideally french cheese such as gruyere, comte cheese, or emmental) otherwise you can use cheddar a good quality cheddar cheese or other cheese you like.
200 grams of pancetta or bacon ( it can be cut in whatever shape you like)
